dc.description.abstract | This project is about the research of energy absorption for cellular solid which is wood. In this research two specimens of wood were tested; cengal and merbau. The testing used quasi-static compressing method by using Universal Testing Machine (UTM). In this research, we also found the mechanical properties of wood such as maximum stress, maximum load and deformation phenomena which its have been discussed and recorded. All the data from the experiment have been compared with other species of wood either local or foreign wood. The graph from the experiment have been analyze to get the cross sectional area of graph by using the Origin 5.0 software. The information of energy absorption of wood is very important thing in order to make sure the aplication of wood to be wide and most popular in enginering. | |
