Abstract
Pelletization of iron ore fines is an important process before it can be fed into blast furnace. It is involves balling of fine powders on a rotating disk or drum to produce wet pellets. In the production of iron ore concentrate pellets, binders are required to improve pellet green strength. In this study, bentonite and starch were used as a binder. Several test was conducted which are moisture content, drop test, fired compressive strength test, tumble and abrasion test. The average of drop number, tumble index, and fired compressive strength using 2.5% bentonite were 24.20, 89.04% and 643.3 N respectively whereas average drop number, tumble index and fired compressive strength using 0.8% starch were 22.7, 85.21% and 183.5 N respectively
