The advancement of electronic technologies has driven significant interest in developing novel dielectric materials that combine high permittivity and low dielectric loss for use in capacitors and embedded components. Calcium copper titanate (CaCu₃Ti₄O₁₂, CCTO) is recognized for its colossal dielectric constant, but its high dielectric loss limits its widespread application. This study examines the impact of isovalent strontium (Sr²⁺) doping at the calcium site on the structure, microstructure, and dielectric properties of CCTO ceramics fabricated via a solid-state reaction method. CCTO samples with varying Sr²⁺ content (x = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4) were synthesized and sintered at different temperatures (1000 °C, 1050 °C, and 1100 °C). Structural and compositional analyses were performed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM/EDX), and X-ray fluorescence (XRF). Density, porosity, and dielectric properties were also evaluated. The results show that optimal Sr²⁺ substitution, particularly at x = 0.2 and temperature = 1050 °C, led to enhanced grain growth, increased grain boundary resistance, and reduced defect concentration. This composition exhibited a relatively high dielectric constant of 40.92 and a reduced dielectric loss of near zero compared to undoped CCTO. These improvements are attributed to the synergistic effects of compositional tuning and processing control. The findings provide valuable insight into the structure–property relationship in Sr²⁺-doped CCTO ceramics and demonstrate a practical approach to achieving high-performance dielectric materials for next-generation miniaturized electronic devices and capacitors.
