The objective to implement this project is to study the behavior of a new type deep drawing die design process. On this project the design the modeling of die is based on the used in a journal written by Vedat Savas; Omer Secgin. "a new type of deep drawing die design and experimental results". The deep drawing is used to produce a cups from sheet metal in large quantities. There are many variable that will be affected on deep drawing such as blank shapes, profile radius of punch and die, formability of materials and so on. To obtain the optimal products in deep drawing process, corner radius, angle of die, and blank are very important factor. In this project there will be five different angle of die and each die there will be three different corner radius. The data obtained from this simulation such as stress, damage, displacement and load prediction are plotted and compared to the data from the reference journal. The result of this project can be concluded that, the blank material will undergo plastic deformation during the process. The area with shape discontinuity will have a high stress concentration factor and the probabilities of failure to occur at these particular locations are significantly higher. And this project the quality of the product can be improved with changing in corner radius and angle of die. The life cycle of the dies and punch also improve.
