This thesis presents a comprehensive study on production optimization through assembly line balancing, utilizing the advanced ergonomic and simulation software Tecnomatix Jack. The primary objective is to enhance efficiency and productivity in manufacturing processes by addressing key issues such as workflow imbalance, ergonomic challenges, and excessive cycle times. The study focuses on improving ergonomics for operators to enhance their efficiency and encourage line balancing in the process by reducing cycle time. Through detailed analysis and simulation, we identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the current assembly line setup. Tecnomatix Jack's capabilities are leveraged to model and test various scenarios, providing insights into optimal workstation layouts, task allocations, and human-machine interactions. Key findings include significant improvements in cycle times and ergonomic conditions, leading to enhanced overall productivity and reduced operational costs. The integration of Tecnomatix Jack in assembly line balancing demonstrates its effectiveness as a medium for achieving substantial production optimization. This research contributes to the broader field of industrial engineering by showcasing practical applications of simulation software in solving real-world manufacturing challenges. By implementing the proposed recommendations, manufacturers can achieve substantial cost savings and improve delivery reliability, ultimately enhancing their competitive edge in the industry. This work aligns with our goal to significantly reduce failed deliveries and processing costs within a short timeframe, highlighting the practical impact of ergonomic and cycle time improvements in a real-world industrial setting.
