dc.description.abstract | Master-Pack, a carton manufacturer, has started to produce corrugated pallet, a product that used for handling, stacking and shipping. The market for such product is potentially huge, predicted one day it is to replace wood pallet used in industries. To ensure the pallets functioning well and safe to be used, a series of testing was done based on the ASTM standard. The testing was cinductedin Master-Pack and School of Mechanical Engineering; depend on space available and equipment used. The test set up and procedures for every single testing were listed in the report. Based on the results and observation of the testing, discussion and analysis was done to compare the performance between the pallets based on pallet structure, dimension, weight, type of cardboard used, etc. Through the experiment. few precaution steps while using the pallet was generate to prevent the failure or deformation of the pallet. These may prevent the incident happen while handling and also enhance the durability of the pallet. Lastly, a ranking table was provided in conclusion to classify the pallet according to its performances such like strength, stiffness, durability, ete. | |
