Abstract
This project is focused on the study of impact and penetration of steel plate
and projectile phenomena. Beside that, this project also makes the observed about the
steel plat deformation under the static loading. This examination will done by using
the computer software to make simulation and analyze the steel plat. The plat shape is
square with dimension 100mm each side and it thickness is 5mm. The element long
that use for meshing is 0.01mm and the model for simulation will take the quarter of
full size steel plate. The software used for this experiment is IDEASTM and PAM
CRASHTM. However, the PAM CRASH application cannot be use because that
software have the technical problem that cannot be solve in short term. So, to solve
this problem, the IDEAS software will take place the PAM CRASH function to make
the analyze and simulation. From the result, the concentration was give to observed
the deformation, stress distribution and energy can absorb by steel plate. For
comparison, two model steel plates were creating with same material and dimension
but have difference boundary condition. At where, the boundary condition is simply
supported and fixed end.
In understanding the phenomena of impact and penetration, reference from
texts book that relevant, journal and published paper that create by university and
research center, and from web site have done. The reference was participate in this
report.
