Abstract
Gamification has become a powerful tool to increase employee engagement and process improvement. This research aims to assess the effectiveness of incorporating game design elements into Lean YB Training at USM through statistical analysis. The objectives include studying the gamification of LSS and mapping skills to interactive learning, gathering the data on how gamification of LSS impact employee engagement and process improvement by quantitative method, and mapping the impact of gamified LSS. A survey form, created based on literature review findings and approved by LSS expert, was distributed to USM alumni of Lean YB Training from 2014 to 2021, targeting 170 respondents. A total of 99 respondents (58.2%) completed the survey, providing insights into the impact of gamification of LSS on employee engagement and process improvement. The data were analyzed using SigmaZone software, focusing on demographic information, skillsets gained from Lean YB Training, and the impact of gamification on engagement and improvement. The analysis included calculating mean, SD, p-value, and F-value for each content area. The findings revealed that gamification significantly impacted employee engagement and process improvement, with p-value for each content being less than 0.05 and F-value exceeding the critical value of 3.888. The mean value for all contents was above 4, indicating strong positive responses from participants, except for the content on ‘building loyalty during work’ with a mean of 3.72. These results suggest that the gamification of LSS training significantly enhances employee engagement and process improvement, supporting the integration of gamification into LSS methodologies as a viable strategy for organizations aiming to boost employee involvement and operational efficiency.
