Abstract
Building Information Modeling (BIM) has emerged as a transformative technology in the construction and project management sectors, with the potential to significantly enhance the performance of public-private partnership (PPP) projects. Despite its recognized benefits, the integration of BIM in PPP projects remains underexplored, especially across various phases of the project life cycle. PPP projects often face inherent challenges, including fragmented stakeholder collaboration, financial risks, contractual ambiguities, and lifecycle inefficiencies, which can undermine project outcomes. This study aims to evaluate the impact of BIM adoption on the performance of PPP projects in Jordan, a country where PPP initiatives are growing, yet BIM implementation remains limited and understudied, focusing on its influence on sustainability, productivity, management, administration, and the tools framework. A quantitative research method was employed, utilizing a questionnaire survey administered to 400 experts in BIM and PPP projects. Data was analyzed and the correlations between BIM adoption and key performance indicators (KPIs) of PPP projects were explored. The findings reveal that BIM adoption has a significant positive impact on project performance, with the most substantial effects observed in the tools framework (3.92±0.779), followed by improvements in productivity (3.91±0.785), sustainability (3.88±0.781), management (3.86±0.788) and administrative processes (3.81±0.949). The results of this study provide valuable insights for government officials, policymakers, and industry professionals, promoting the effective integration of BIM in PPP projects in Jordan. By enhancing project performance across multiple dimensions, this research contributes to the broader understanding of BIM’s value offering a robust framework for future adoption and implementation in civil engineering and construction management
