Abstract
In this project work, the approximation three-dimension computational analysis of instantaneous fluid flow around Micro Flow Sensor (MFS) was simulated to observe and studies the fluid flow profile. The research included evaluating the accuracy of the Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) analysis by using FORTRAN 77 and Micro AVS for predicting vortex cavitations occurrence. The optimization of Micro Flow Sensor is conducted based on the boundary layer thickness that simulated on the top surface of sensor. Besides, there were the flows around the MFS that have the possibility of being vortex cavitations were measured experimentally using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) equipment. Nevertheless, in both numerical and experimental, the MFS was arranged in diagonal position to visualize the stream in channel with various velocities. Lastly, the measurement results were compared with CFD analysis that respect to the velocity distribution and the fluid flow circulation. It is to confirm that the result of comparison and the relationship between velocity and flow profile in an experimental is agreed well with numerical predictions.
