dc.description.abstractLodge paddy rice usually occurs when the plant stem becomes weak and cannot support the weight of the grain. The occurrence of lodge paddy rice is one of the problems that result in financial losses to farmers. Malaysia is one of the countries where rice is grown in an environment that produces high productivity. Due to unpredictable weather conditions such as strong winds and heavy rains that often cause rice to collapse during the harvest season. Common methods are chemically using chemical fertilizers or chemical-based vitamins, this will damage the soil in the long term. Therefore, the need for mechanical tools is needed. In this project, the developed prototypes will be further and tested and improved. Field tests will be carried out involving end users, namely the farmers, to obtain suggestions for improving the tools. In this project as well, the manufacturability aspect using the plastic injection molding process will be simulated. To ensure that the product can be marketed at a reasonable price, the design of these mechanical tools is developed considering the aspects of manufacturability and practicality. The results found that this tool can be produced through injection molding when plastic simulation has been successfully performed on the design of this tool.
