Abstract
This project consists of nanotechnology as the basic idea for a revolutionary
method in manufacturing fields. Research will cover the definition of nanotechnology, its
historical review, benefits of nanotechnology, the basic concept and idea that support or
against the capabilities of nanotechnology as the concept that will change the world of
manufacturing, as well as other areas.
The capability of the machine in USM’s Mechanical School will also be tested
using surface roughness test procedure that will be applied to the workpiece of both
machines. Roughness test that will be conducted can show how far is the capability of
these machine towards the nanotechnology capabilities that will effect the quality of the
workpiece.
