E is a high accuracy finite element analysis software program suited for calculating scalar valued partial differential equations in two-dimensional space. It can be used for higher order of polynomial degree and multiple supported physics modes. Since there is no three-dimensional heat transfer module is available in PolyDE, implementation work needs to be done. Because three-dimensional electromagnetic wave propagation module exists, so the source code is modified and implemented with scalar element into PolyDE. Shape functions for linear tetrahedral elements are implemented and local finite elements are assembled into a global matrix. The heat transfer module then is solved and verified with simple geometry such as a cube. The geometric domain is meshed with different number of tetrahedral elements. The results from PolyDE is compared with analytical solution by using different number of the elements. Then, the results are also compared with ANSYS, a commercial general-purpose finite element analysis software.
