| dc.description.abstract | This study enhances the mechanical and thermal properties of epoxy resin composites by incorporating eggshell powder (ESP) and aluminum trihydrate (ATH). It aims to improve material performance and promote sustainability by using waste materials. Various concentrations of ESP and ATH, along with different post-cure temperatures, were tested to find optimal conditions. The methodology evaluated mechanical properties and thermal stability, using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) to analyze data. Results show that adding ESP and ATH significantly improves tensile and flexural strengths without compromising thermal stability. The optimal formulation with a desirability index value of 0.694, with 6 wt% ESP, 5 wt% ATH, and a post-cure temperature of 120°C, demonstrated superior performance. This combination offers a sustainable, high-performance composite material. In conclusion, this study reduces environmental waste and provides a cost-effective way to enhance epoxy resin composites. The use of RSM highlights the efficiency of optimizing material formulations, laying the groundwork for future research on biowaste fillers and the long-term durability of these composites. | |
