This thesis presents the development of a smart foot fixture for stroke rehabilitation, addressing the challenges and limitations in the field. Stroke rehabilitation is a complex process with limited objective assessment tools, hindering effective monitoring and progress tracking. The smart foot fixture integrates accelerometer sensors, an ESP32 microcontroller, and IoT capabilities to provide a comprehensive solution. The smart foot fixture, with overall dimensions of 109 mm x 355.47 mm x 210.37 mm and overall cost of RM 238.22, accurately measures and monitors patients' range of motion during specific leg exercises. The results of the conducted exercises show promising values for plantarflexion 32.2 degrees, dorsiflexion of 11.7 degrees, abduction of 16.8 degrees, adduction of 15.03 degrees, and flexion of 87.59 degrees. These values fall within the standard range of motion for human joints, demonstrating the effectiveness of the smart foot fixture in facilitating leg rehabilitation. The ESP32 microcontroller processes real-time data, enabling immediate analysis and feedback for patients and healthcare professionals. The IoT capabilities facilitate remote monitoring and data collection, allowing for personalized care and customized treatment plans. By offering real-time feedback and progress tracking, the smart foot fixture enables patients to actively engage in their rehabilitation journey, leading to improved adherence to therapy and better overall outcomes. This advancement in stroke rehabilitation overcomes existing challenges and empowers healthcare professionals with valuable data, enhancing accessibility and ensuring continuity of care for patients. Through these advancements, the smart foot fixture has the potential to revolutionize stroke rehabilitation, improving outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for stroke survivors.
