dc.description.abstract | One challenge for manufacturing industries are to produces the real model. Metal deposition is the technique for Rapid Prototyping Technology (RP) to develop the capability to directly create functional metal shape which are dense, metallurgically bonded, geometrically accurate and with good surface appearance. Metal deposition is manufacturing paradigm which attemps to address these issues. It incorporates the advantages of several processes like laser system, including solid freeform fabrication (complex geometries, rapidly planned),CNC machining (accuaracy, smooth surfaces), shot-peening (for stress relief) and microcasting (a high-performance, weldbased material deposition process). These ideas are intregrated within design a nozzle that can generate a model from CAD/CAM system. This paper will present the current research in this effort. | |
