Modelling of many real world phenomena using partial differential equations (PDEs) with finite difference discretization often lead to a large and sparse system of linear equations. While there are many numerical solution techniques for large linear systems, relatively few of the techniques can run well on distributed memory multicomputers, A series of three explicit group methods based on four point groups have been proposed by the past researchers, but their parallel implementation centered around the shared memory environments, In this thesis, a fourth explicit group method, modified explicit decoupled group (MEDG) method is proposed to complete the series.en_US
