Tyre plays an important role in the safety of truck transportation especially in mining industry. The type of tyre and condition of tyre will indirectly cause accidents to happen and maintenance cost on tyres are expensive. Truck drivers tend to drive as fast as they are allowed and this often cause accidents to happen when their tyres are not in good shape and this will also damage the tyres faster so tyre is one of the major operating cost in transportation. By comparing different condition of the road and the speed limit of the truck using rimpull curve, we will find the optimum range of speed of truck to minimize truck cycle time and preventing the tyres to worn out too quickly while ensure the safety of drivers and workers at the same time. By using the FPC software, the type of trucks, grade resistance and rolling resistance are used to determine the allowable speed limit. The results proved that the better the ground condition, the higher the allowable speed limit and less damage done to the tyre.en_US
