dc.description.abstractThis report present a 'state of art 1 survey of garbage collection techniques, and a number of techniques of garbage collection are described. In specifically, a garbage collector is selected and incorporated into ULISP, the lisp-system used in Universiti Sains Malaysia, for the purpose of updating the present garbage collector. Hopefully, the new garbage collector is better. The garbage collector consists ot a set of routines written in IBM ASSEMBLY and was implemented to run under the VM 370 of IBM machine.en_US
