The aim of this research work is to develop Non-Newtonian viscometer. The main concept of the viscometer is to design, calibrate and find effect of magnetic flux towards viscosity using Non-Newtonian viscometer that been fabricated. In order to find the validity of results of the viscometer, the calibration was made by using general purposes silicone oil and corn oil. The viscometer used to calibrate in this research is Brookfield HD viscometer. The effects of magnetic fields towards the viscosity of Magnetorheological fluid also been studied. Using different electric current, different shear stress and different shear rates will be yield. The results show that the calibration viscosity is not too far from the original viscosity based on the Brookfields viscometer. The value recorded from the Brookfields viscometer varies about 9-10% with the Non-Newtonian viscometer. The MR fluid from LORD corporation give an initial reading that varies about 4-5% from the MR fluid produced in the lab. The different MR fluid also gives different value of viscosity. The viscosity increases with the increase of value of magnetic flux. The highest viscosity value recorded is with the original set of Brookfieldsen_US
