Abstract
Application of Polymeric nanocomposites as pour point depressant (PPD) for crude oil has opened the doors for a new area of research in the petroleum industry. The different lateral size of Graphene Oxides was found through ultrasonication method at 0 min, 30 min, 60 min, 120 min, and 150 min. The SEM results show that increase the sonication time, the smaller the particle size of the Graphene Oxide nanosheets. FTIR results are used to shows the presence of the oxygen functional group in the Graphene Oxide nanosheets after subjected to ultrasonication and also new peak appear when Graphene Oxide have functionalized. Wax solution treated with Functionalize Graphene Oxide has an effect the pour point of crude oil. Wax solution treated with EVA-FGO shows the highest reduction in pour point test. The rheological measurement shows that wax solution treated with EVA-FGO (150 min) is the optimum ultrasonication time to produce the ideal lateral size of Graphene Oxide nanosheets that leads to improvement in flowability and stability of the EVA PPD-GO. Besides, it shows the highest reduction of pour point on the crude oil and improves the rheological behavior of the wax solution and crude oil in terms of yield stress and viscosity.
