Advances in computer and communication technologies have made healthcp.re information access through the World Wide Web. A wide range of users will receive hefllth and medical information by using e-health community and use these web-based applications to exchange information between patients, physicians, family members and others. Security threats come parallel with the growth of technology and communication. This hefllth information may contain sensitive or confidential patient's information. As a result, all ehealth communities need to consider some security issues such as privacy, confidentiality, integrity, access control and others in order to provide a secured space for the patient to sqare their health information with others. The objective of this research was to investigate patients' usability with security features in e-health community. Usability testing methodology was used in this research. Usability attributes such as leamability, efficien,cy, memorability, error and satisfaction were used to measured patients' usability with the security features in this e-health community prototype. The security features applied in fhis research were Secure Socket Layer (SSL ), authentication, access control and public key ! encryption. The evaluation results showed that patients' usability with security features in this e-health community prototype has achieved from patients' perspective. Patients were able to use the access control and public key encryption features in this e-health community prototype. Authentication was not usable from majority of patients' perspective. All patients did not aware of Secure Socket Layer. Hence, we need to give more attention to the des;gn of authentication and Secure Socket Layer Ill future reseaf"ch.en_US
