Abstract
The knowledge of 'Ilm al-f:lisab or the Islamic mathematics civilization arrived to the Malay World in the 19th Century through Mecca by the Malay ulama who were educated there. Their books which referred to works of the knowledgeable scholars of the Islamic civilization, helped in the transfer of this mathematical knowledge. 'Alarri al-f:lussab fi 'Ilm al-f:lisab a mathematics book written in the Malay language-Jawi by Sheikh Ahmad bin Abdul Latif al-Khatib a famous ulama, was involved in this transfer. This research is focussed on the analysis of knowledge 'Alam al-ljussab fi 'Ilm al-ljisab as a basic text book on pure mathematics of Islamic civilization and a source of the knowledge for finding unknown values. The t~xt also contains the mathematics curriculum of Islamic heritage that use an integrated approach and a teaching focus that is based on Islamic mathematics philosophy. Several mathematics problems in 'Alam al-f:lussab are studied in this research to clarify the concept of integrated approach and infusion of values in order to achieve spiritual and intellectual balance, which is the objective of mathematics education.
