Abstract
The knowledge of 'Ilm al-f:lisab or the Islamic mathematics civilization arrived to
the Malay World in the 19th Century through Mecca by the Malay ulama who were
educated there. Their books which referred to works of the knowledgeable scholars
of the Islamic civilization, helped in the transfer of this mathematical knowledge.

language-Jawi by Sheikh Ahmad bin Abdul Latif al-Khatib a famous ulama, was
involved in this transfer. This research is focussed on the analysis of knowledge
'Alam al-ljussab fi 'Ilm al-ljisab as a basic text book on pure mathematics of
Islamic civilization and a source of the knowledge for finding unknown values. The

integrated approach and a teaching focus that is based on Islamic mathematics
philosophy. Several mathematics problems in 'Alam al-f:lussab are studied in this
research to clarify the concept of integrated approach and infusion of values in order
to achieve spiritual and intellectual balance, which is the objective of mathematics
