Kerajaan Malaysia telah mengharamkan pengambilan pasir sungai di beberapa tempat atas sebab ini. Digging of sand from the riverbeds in access quantity is hazardous to environment.The Malaysian Government has banned the quarrying of sand from riverbed in many areas.en_US
