dc.description.abstractThe Tamil font has been designed in this dissertation using Mathematica software by applying a method which is called rational cubic Bezier curve. Rational Bezier curve uses the weight function for controlling the shape of the desired curves. For this dissertation, the Tamil fonts are generated using quadratic and cubic rational Bezier curve and some comparison has been made between these curves in the context of smoothness and original similarity. Moreover, the comparison between the Tamil fonts generated using Bezier curve and rational cubic Bezier curve has also been made. From this study, the cubic rational Bezier curve can be considered to generate the fonts with a better curves and smoothness and also the generated fonts are similar to the original fonts.en_US
