dc.description.abstract | The aim of this project is to study the effect of chitosan binder in graphene anode on electrochemical and physical performance of the electrode. Graphene and chitosan binder were used to prepare graphene anode where graphene was fixed to 0.02 g with different percentage of chitosan binder. The working electrode allowed to be characterized as a half-cell setting for the characterization. The structural analysis confirmed the formation of graphene's layered structure. The binder also successfully bind the active material matrix, graphene together based on the analysis of morphology. With the optimum scanning rate (0.1 mV s-1) in cyclic voltammetry (CV), the best performance is the 10% chitosan electrode. The anode's capacity is slowly fading after cycling. The anode will degrade during the initial cycles throughout the characterization. Combination of graphene and chitosan binder showed promising results in this study. | en_US |
