Abstract
he most popular communication means today is the Internet. The Internet is not only a communication means but a boundary less information and knowledge highway. Internet connection via satellite requires extensive and expensive infrastructure for a remote area. Without proper infrastructure, communication to and from remote areas is almost impossible hence the digital divide in remote areas. Subsequently there exists education gap due to digital divide due to the lack of telecommunication infrastructure. Many have researched and implement projects such as e-Bario, to find a solution to bridge digital divide and education gap, but both issues are too wide areas to cover, and must be carried out with dedication from the parties involved in order to suc~eed. As a result, digital divide and education gap are two issues that Parallel Solutions Sdn. Bhd. intends to bridge and narrow down. Parallel Solutions Sdn. Bhd. offers an economical satellite communication solution in remote areas using MeshNet. MeshNet is hardware with embedded software which allows bidirectional communication whilst closing the digital divide. With MeshNet connecting to the internet via satellite, Parallel Solutions Sdn. Bhd. is proposing at improving schools' data management and students' learning via high-speed satellite internet connectivity. The solution is med Internet Students and Learning Management System (iLearnDB). MeshNet and iLearnDB ould bring much knowledge that would help remote areas communities socio-economically.
