Abstract
Mozley table is a physical mineral processing equipment. Mozley table is also known as the mineral ore separation concentrater through difference in density of ore by using gravity. For this study, the design of experiment (DOE) was used for test the efficiency of the Mozley table using synthetic ore consists of sand and ilmenite. The performance of this concentrating separator depend on the parameters used. Therefore optimization of performance Mozley table are using fractional factorial to facilitate control by four different parameters which are the angle of inclination, particle size of mineral, washing water flow rate and the irrigation water flow rate that was control simultaneously. All of these parameters are controlled by the design of experiment. The uses of design experiment has made it easier and reduce the number of experiments to be carried out to test the efficiency Mozley table. Based on the analysis of design experiment, the results showed that, the size of the particles mineral give that affect greatly to the efficiency Mozley table compared to other factors. The particle size of 150Ξm have shown the effects of high purity during the experiment run. As a result of the optimization of the four parameters, the equation from the analysis show, the efficiency = - 3.151ð‘Ĩ₁ - 6.371ð‘Ĩ₂ - 0.684ð‘Ĩ₃ - 1.839ð‘Ĩ₄.
