Abstract
Diversity of chemical solution has been utilized to overcoming the problem of handling during application in cold flow properties cause crystallization in production and/or transportation of waxy crude oils. Herein, series of Initiator, Surfactant, PMMA-co-PBMA and PMMA GO loadings as pour point depressants were prepared successfully by homopolymerized and copolymerized PMMA, PBMA and GO inorganic nanosheets via nanoemulsion polymerization. The prepared of Initiator, Surfactant, PMMA-co-PBMA and PMMA GO loadings were characterized by FTIR and XRD spectroscopy. The particle sizes of all samples and loadings were using particle size analyzer. The thermal stability of Initiator and Surfactant loadings were also studied by DSC. The results showed that pour point and the optical microscopy (POM) of paraffin wax crystal were reduced significantly upon addition of Initiator, Surfactant, PMMA-co-PBMA and PMMA GO and the long-term stability of the PMMA GO nanohybrid was superior to that of a conventional PMMA homopolymers. The significant effect of this PMMA GO nanohybrid as pour point depressant and flow improver on waxy crude oil problem is a new technology to minimization of the permeability during charge and transportation process.
