Abstract
One of the major and the recent application in the domain of the networks that is being taken into consideration is the Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) network. This network merges between the Internet Protocol (IP) from a side and the TV from other side. In this system, customers (end-users) can view multiple channels simultaneously depending on the supply of bandwidths from the broadcasters. Consequently, a problem of the lack for a fair share of the bandwidth amount between the broadcasters from side and the end-users from other side might appear. Therefore, this research proposed a model called the PBR and QoS Control RoariIrg fbr Multi-Channel Adaptive Streaming (PQMAS) model so that these bandwidths will be more regulated and organized by a policy routing system. This model is performed into multicast communication. The main aim of this model is to achieve a fair share of bandwidth amounts between the broadcasters as well as the end-users. More specifically, we assumed that there are three time types. These are; the prime-time period, the average-prime-time period and the nonprime- time period. This assumption was based on the nature of the humans' daily activities. More clearly, these types are defined to show the usage exploitation of the customers for the bandwidths at the range of these time types. The validation of this model is based on the throughput and the fairness calculations. As a result, the Best case of the fairness indicates to (0.9995863), where this case is based on the average-prime-time period. The Average case indicated to (0.9994308), where this case is based on the prime-time period. Finally, the Worst case indicates to (0.9994107), where this case is based on the non-prime-time.
