dc.description.abstractThis dissertation discusses about deformation of swept surfaces. Several methods are considered to deform the generation swept surfaces. Initially a research had been done for the shape curve to make swept surface generation easier. First definition is given of generalized cylinders in terms of Frenet Frames of the trajectory which a close contour is sweep along the trajectory. The change of the contours is one of the ways to deform swept surfaces to produced generalized cylinder as we need. Sinusoidal functions are introduced to blend several contour curves to produce the periodic sweep surfaces, which is consist a different contours. This contour will be swept along a line segment alternately to produce a repetitive shapes. This dissertation will be mainly about the shapes that have only 2 and 4 contours. Deformation function is introduced which is a function to localize the contours at trajectory to produce a different shape. Then deformation swept surfaces through the change of the control polygon will be discussed by using transformation, rotation, scaling and inflection method. Lastly, there will be discussing about deformation swept surfaces by changing the shape and tension parameter using quartic Bezier like curves as the generator curve. Besides that, swept surfaces generation by using the control curves will be also discussing here. Quadratic Bezier will be represent as the generator curve and quartic Bezier like curves represents as the control curve.en_US
