dc.description.abstractThe main purpose of this project is to develop the hardware and software for the commissioning of a functional ground control station (GCS) for Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) Space System Lab (USSL). The main tasks of the GCS are telemetry processing, tracking, sending commands and managing the database. The applications of the ground station include for high-altitude balloon missions, CubeSats and airshipdrone operations. A mobile application is also developed so that data can be accessed from virtually anywhere using mobile devices such as phones and tablets via Internet access. The software development utilizes the Microsoft Visual Studio 2017. The ground station antenna is also designed and fabricated. The antenna and other hardware components are integrated with the developed software applications. The final assembly is then tested for a HAB project.en_US
