A study about effect of different types of accelerator on mechanical properties of nitrile rubber latex film was conducted to investigate the relationship betweenmechanical properties shown with the allergy contributed by the accelerators. Thus, how to reduce the probability for the allergy to occur was discuss. Different types of accelerator were used in the NBR latex are Zinc Diethyldithiocarbamates (ZDEC), Tetramethyl Thiuram Disulfide (TMTD) and dibenzthiazyl disulfide (MBTS).The films were subjected to two processes. After mechanical testing was done, the accelerator that shows the best mechanical properties is latex film with TMTD. Then, calcium carbonate was added to the system. This is to investigate the effect of calcium carbonate with TMTD. A latex compound with TMTD as accelerator and calcium carbonate as filler was prepared. The results shows that its mechanical properties drop as the calcium carbonate is non-reinforcing filler.en_US
