This research was carried out to validate that optimization tools able to resemble the aggregate production circuits before starting simulation process. The circuit involved in this project were the circuits from Hanson Quarry and Sunway Quarry. The experiment started when parameter of machine such as feed rate, power draw, closes side setting (CSS) and eccentric throw were taken from each circuit need to be set in the simulation tools. Circuit fitting was done for each circuit in order to make the predicted size distribution of products from simulation similar to the size distribution of products from actual plants. Thus, it shows that the simulated circuit was behave like actual circuit at site. Next, the objective of this project is to predict the effect on tonnage of the products with the adjustment of machine’s parameter. This dissertation also is purposely to identify the result of size distribution of the products when different machine of comminution were used. At the end of the experiment, the results show that bigger gap size of cone and jaw crusher produced coarser size of products as the tonnage of coarse products had increased. Higher the closed site setting (CSS) of crusher produced more rocks which became oversize of the first screen and been transferred to next crushing stage. Next, the cone crusher was replaced by the vertical shaft impact (VSI) crusher at Hanson Quarry. The results from this experiment showed that VSI crusher produced finer products than cone crusher when mass of products that range size of 10-5 mm and 5-0 mm from VSI crusher was higher than cone crusher. This is because the rocks from cone crusher been crushed by the impact force and tend to form irregular shape while the rocks from VSI crusher been crushed by the impact force that form cubical shape of rocks.en_US
