Abstract
In this research, the effect of geological factor is investigated in Selinsing Gold Mine Manager Sdn.Bhd., Kuala Lipis, Pahang. This research includes collection data of site mapping which needed in evaluation of geological properties. Slope mass rating is becoming a medium for methodology to quantify the overall rating for discontinuities. In this study required only one testing which involved strength of the rock. It is required to determine the strength by using point load test. Furthermore, fragmentation is evaluated by using software also known as WipFrag. This software helps the user to identify and analyze the picture of the rock easier and faster. Finally, the data is formed as size distribution graph which is useful to determine the fragmentation. The study will compare relationship between the data specifically, Slope Mass Rating (SMR) and fragmentation. Every site has their own geological properties which contribute as a factor for fragmentation. There are many reasons why the geological properties are vital toward shotfirer. As experience shotfirer, he must be alert with the condition of discontinuities in order to produce good fragmentation. There are several precaution steps in the last section which can help lower down the risk during blasting.
