dc.description.abstractLately, more and more research has been conducted to look at the role ita wan and involvement in the tourism industry (Sinclair 1997). Wan ita also viewed as very creative in using materials in their environment to generating activities that can provide a source of income to keJuarga they (jahara 1994). In discussing the role of women in industry fisheries, the role of women's associations have a very strong influence in increasing women's participation in economic activities and society and this Surely not to be underestimated. For example, the association W.l (Women Institute) was a catalyst in the development of local tourism as it did in Pulau Langkawi (Nor Haflzah, 2003). W.I a women's organizations based on volunteerism in which the group has provide a way for local women to hone their skills and highlighting and their creativity in generating sources of income in the family. unit A also (wife of the Association of Fishermen's wives) is an association founded by Fisheries Development Authority of Malaysia (LKIM), which became one of the important pillars in development of local communities, as highlighted in the village Fishermen Belawai, Mukah, Sarawaken_US
