Abstract
Aging is continuous and gradual natural progression irreversible decline in physiological functions with increasing time, leading to increased susceptibility to disease. Other from the daily healthy lifestyle which is less efficient, the synthetic medicine treated age related disease with side effect potential, the natural product more preferred to use as treatment approach. The study aims to evaluate the anti-aging effects of C. nutans aqueous extract on ovarian tissue and to assess the toxicity effect of C. nutans aqueous extract kidney, liver and lung tissue for young and aged female C57BL/6 mice divided into young control group, young treated group, aged control group and aged treated group with each group have three mice. The result shows ovarian scoring that secondary follicle with significant difference between young control group with aged control group (p=0.033), young control group with aged treated group (p=0.049), young treated group with aged control group (p=0.048) while corpus luteum with significant difference between the young control group with young treated group (p=0.017), aged control group with aged treated group (p=0.025), young treated group with aged control group (p=0.004), young treated group with aged treated group (p=0.039). The C. nutans toxicity assessment concluded as no toxicity effect exhibit from C. nutans treatment with 300 mg/kg as the liver and kidney representative histopathological scoring under scoring ‘0’ with no change while the lung scoring ‘0’ in young treated group while others under scoring ‘1’ with mild change. In conclusion, the C. nutans able to exert the anti-aging effect on ovarian tissue and no toxicity exert on kidney, liver and lung
