Abstract
The temperature control system have been developed and used by industries nowadays in wide range of area such the temperature reliability test for electronics products, temperature optimization in chamber for specific operation and so on. The implementation of this system using FPGA technology is still new and worth to be researched. The title of this final year project is “Chamber Optimization For Gas”. In this project, a temperature optimization system for gas using FPGA technology is designed. This system is fully controlled by a FPGA processor ( model XC4010XL PC84 ) with the use of “Xilinx Foundation Series 2.1i” software and the language used to implement the system is VHDL code. In the first stage, the chamber temperature is measured by SHT75, a humidity / temperature sensor. The data from the sensor is then processed by the FPGA processor and the temperature value (until one decimal point) will be displayed on LCD screen in final stage. In the meantime, a heater system and a cooler system are also implemented in the design. The heater will turn on if the chamber temperature falls beyond its lower limit and turn off if it exceeds its lower limit while the cooler system will turn on if the chamber temperature exceeds its upper limit and turn off if it falls below its upper limit. The STH75 sensor could measure temperature in range -40.0°C to 138.0°C. However this system is design for practical use of measuring gas in room temperature. The temperature is optimized within 23.0°C to 33.0°C.
