dc.description.abstractBricks are the most important element in construction area. There are a several types of bricks but it has the same function. Nowadays, we can even find colors bricks. The usage of it has been known since decades. The features are the most important element to describe the quality of it. It includes compression strength, water absorption, permeability, workability, durability and initial rates or suction rates. These elements are controlled by the pore size distribution of the bricks. This project studies about the influence of the pores, the features, water absorption and the permeability of the bricks. Regarding to the studies, several tests has been done to the bricks. The tests include the compression strength test, vacuum pressure test and Nitrogen pressure test. Technically, the vacuum pressure tests are to define the pore size of the bricks and the ratio of the water absorption while the Nitrogen test is to define its permeability. This test is referred to the British Standard of BS3921: Mei 1974 and BS 3921:1985.
