Abstract
Edge detection plays a crucial role in the analysis and interpretation of medical images. Accurate identification and localization of edges enable the detection of
important structures, such as boundaries of organs, lesions, and anatomical features. This abstract presents the development of an advanced edge detection method specifically tailored for medical images. The proposed method combines the power of classical edge detection algorithms with innovative techniques to enhance the accuracy and robustness of edge identification. It considers the unique characteristics and challenges present in medical images, including noise, low contrast, varying illumination, and complex anatomical structures. To improve edge detection performance, a pre-processing stage is employed to address image noise and enhance contrast. Gaussian filtering techniques, including adaptive filters and multi-scale analysis, are utilized to enhance the visibility of edges while preserving important details. The core of the proposed method involves the application of edge detection algorithms such as Sobel. These algorithms are tailored to consider the specific properties of medical images, allowing for accurate edge localization, and reduced false positives. The development of an advanced edge detection method specifically designed for medical images has significant implications in medical image analysis and computer-aided diagnosis. The suggested technique improves edge localization and detection accuracy, which can improve medical picture interpretation, aid in illness diagnosis, and help medical professionals make educated judgements.
