dc.description.abstractUrban Heat Island (UHI) effects are intensifying in tropical cities due to rapid urbanization and the diminishing presence of vegetation. In Malaysia, residential landscapes often lack climate-responsive design, particularly in single-storey semi-detached housing. Although vegetation plays a key role in regulating microclimates, its structural application in suburban residential settings remains underexplored. This research aims to develop an optimal Vegetation Structure and Configuration (VSC) framework to enhance thermal performance in such environments. Two field-based case studies were conducted in Perak, Malaysia, utilizing Delta OHM HD32.1 for thermal microclimate monitoring and HD37AB1347 for indoor air quality assessment.
