dc.description.abstract | This thesis contains modeling approach of readout circuitry for sensor. Readout circuitry for sensor is finally fabricated on printed circuit board (PCB). This readout circuitry for sensor is focusing on reading out the output of the sensor. The sensor that use in this project is photodiode. The application of photodiode nowadays is very encouraging in electronic device such as camera and television. Photodiode that is used in this project is light-to-voltage converter. Readout circuitry for sensor is on method to convert analog data or differential output from the sensor to digital data. Digital data is easy to use because it only involves 1 or 0. Analog-to-digital converter basic functions are the time and amplitude discretization. There are variables output of readout circuitry for sensor, where it changes proportionally with light intensity. The finalization of this project is the readout circuitry for sensor is printed circuit board (PCB). It was fabricated onto the PCB because of the highly market on PCB industry. PCBs are used for larger quantity productions as compare to wire wrapping can involve hours to complete just one unit. Populating a printed circuit board can be done in matter of minutes. Looking at labor costs, there is a significant cost benefit to use a PCB. Also, the connections or joints of a populated circuit board can be wave soldered, which greatly improves reliability and quality of the product. Using a PCB allows the unit to be quality tested at the completion of the build with ease, versus a wire wrapped or hand built unit. A PCB can then be conformal coated to resist corrosion and can handle environmental conditions. Using a PCB versus hand building also greatly reduces the likelihood of build errors that is, miss connections, miss components or short circuited when the wire overlapping. | |
