This study focuses on the development of bioaerogel-based filters for the removal of particulate matter (PM) from the air, addressing the challenges posed by both normal and humid conditions. Current air filtration methods often rely on synthetic materials that are non-biodegradable, expensive, and prone to performance loss under high humidity. The primary objective was to synthesize bioaerogels from different blends of Gelatin, Chitosan, and nanocellulose, and to enhance their filtration performance through surface modification.
