Glass has been used in building for centuries. Over the last decade there is a tendency to use glass as load bearing elements. With these developments, the glass began to be used as elements in the building, such as glass walls, glass stairs and glass floors also began to be used today, despite the public perception of the glass remains unchanged which glass is still considered a fragile material. The aim of this study was to investigate the strength of bolted and clamped under preload and static loadings. Ultimate breaking load of glass under preload and static loadings was compared. In addition, the failure pattern of glass was determined through observation during the test. Through this study, different glazing systems which are bolted glass panel and clamped glass panels show different load bearing capacity. This shows that the system selected also affects the strength of the glass. All testing was conducted using the three point bending test method.
