Abstract
Nowadays, the use of bicycles has become a trend among the public, especially for teenagers, either to go to a certain place or as a sports activity which causes an increase in the number of cyclists on the road. The safety of cyclists on the road has become a concern among the public, especially road users who drive cars. According to the World Health Organization, more than half of all road traffic deaths are among vulnerable road users such as cyclists. This happens because unsafe driving by motor vehicles is the main cause of accidents. Therefore, this project aims to develop an advanced security system for cyclists by using smart sensors. These sensors measure the distance of overtaking vehicles and the data is displayed in real time to cyclists to improve their safety. In addition, the system is designed to optimize energy efficiency through a sleep mode, where the device will enter this mode when inactive or not taking measurements. This strategy ensures minimal energy consumption that allow the device to operate for a longer period of time. This project is an initiative to promote safe transportation for cyclists, reduce accidents and build a safer environment on the road. By leveraging current technology and energy efficient design, this project will be able to ensure the safety of cyclists.
