To address the pressures of economic transformation and sustainable development, Chinese enterprises urgently need to enhance their sustainability performance through strategic change. However, the complexity of strategic change shows that its underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Drawing on the resource-based view and resource dependence theory, this study systematically examines the effects of strategic aggressiveness and strategic deviation on the sustainability performance of Chinese listed companies. It further explores the mediating roles of digital transformation and financial flexibility, as well as the moderating effect of green innovation.
