dc.description.abstract | The interest in the research and development of humanoid robots has been steadily growing in recent years. This project present on the design of a humanoid robotic hand. Due of its high accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability, the robotic hand is frequently used in different industries such as industry, medicine, and even the military. The Leap Motion is used as a controller for the humanoid robotic arm as the Leap Motion more effective and precise than other controllers. The project involves the design and development a 3D printed humanoid robotic hand that can be controlled remotely via human hand gesture input, using Leap Motion-based finger motion control. Leap motion sensor technology was utilized to capture gestures as the control of the robotic hand. The collected gesture data was then extracted and processed in the processing software before being transferred to the Arduino Mega 2560 through serial connection, the Arduino board was in charge of disassembling the data to operate the servo motors. The developed robotic hand was able to be commanded to do the gripping motion using hand gesture input. The constructed robotic hand achieved the desired goals of the project. Despite the limitations given by the Leap Motion controller, the robotic hand was able to replicate the user's hand movements pretty accurately and with little delay. The potential impact of the project will be application that concerns human robot interaction as well as medical healthcare. | |
