Abstract
This project outlines the implementation of a vehicle tracking system designed to aid companies in monitoring employees' travel activities by providing real-time
updates on vehicle locations via Google Maps. The system utilizes advanced wireless technologies like the Global Positioning System (GPS) in conjunction with components such as the Raspberry Pi, SIM7600X 4G Hat, tactile switch, Light Emitting Diode (LED), and SIM card. Current vehicle tracking systems have limited real-time monitoring capabilities and an inability to respond quickly to emergencies. These shortcomings lead to increased operational costs, fuel consumption, and difficulty in centralized data storage. To address these challenges, this system offers two main methods: tracking through Raspberry Pi and monitoring via Firebase on Cloud Server and Google Spreadsheet. The tracking method provides real-time location updates on Google Maps through a mobile application, while the monitoring method enables real time tracking on both the mobile application and a website. The system also incorporates innovative algorithms, including emergency mode and idle mode to enhance functionality. This project aims to improve efficiency in vehicle management and supervision across various sectors while providing users with useful algorithms for better usability. From the results, essential data such as latitude, longitude, speed, date, and time are captured. Additionally, it tracks travel duration, distance, speed, and adherence to speed limits, offering valuable insights into vehicle status and driver behavior.
