Abstract
Various industrial applications depend on diagnosing faults in the stators of Brushless DC (BLDC) motors to ensure their longevity and dependability. This project offers an investigation into creating efficient defect diagnosis methods designed especially for BLDC motor stators. The study's outset examines the importance of early problem identification and the difficulties in diagnosing stator faults in BLDC motors. This project focuses on designing a standard BLDC motor system circuit and a redesigned BLDC motor system to detect faults using SIMULINK in MATLAB. A few types of stator faults were differentiated in this project for analysis purposes. The outcomes show that the circuit can identify and classify stator faults. The results of the two methods were compared. The redesigned BLDC motor circuit demonstrated superior performance and resilience to various faults. However, the circuit had some limitations, such as the initial resistance values being 0.0485 Ohm. However, for the redesigned BLDC motor, the initial resistance was 10 Ohm so that the shape of the stator current waveform would be more accurate as it would become trapezoidal. Thus, the results obtained are not the same as those obtained while using the standard BLDC motor, but the concept of each fault was fulfilled.
