This research conducted a comparative and descriptive analysis of lexico-semantic translatability errors in Khayyam's Quatrains (1120) using two online translation machines, Targoman and Google Translate. Fitzgerald's (1859) human translation served as a benchmark. The study adopted a mixed-methods approach, employing both qualitative and quantitative analyses. The objectives were to evaluate the quality of Khayyam's quatrains (1120) translated by Google Translate and Targoman using House's (1997) overt/covert model and Liao's (2010) classification of error types and to compare the frequency of lexico-semantic errors with human translations.
